Good news are indeed on the horizon for the early ZSP applicants who successfully completed their relevant submissions, according to Minister Malusi Gigaba of Home Affairs (SA). He was speaking during a media briefing in Cape Town yesterday (20/11/2014) on latest updates concerning the ZSP permit renewals processes.

He confirmed that almost 64% of the over 245 000 applications have been received by now. However, the Home Affairs (SA) has completed the adjudications process for just over 20%, which gives an estimated numerical figure of around 31 360 as of the date of his media briefing!

This means the decision outcomes on the new ZSP permits from Home Affairs have been finalised, prepared and applicants may start tracking their application as they must be ready for collection in various VFS Global Centres as from December 2014 by those eligible Zimbabwean applicants.

However, on the subject of travel during the festive season his proclamations remained too casual, and fellow Zimbabweans must still need to shorten their holiday plans to a date before 31 December. The information at hand is that Zimbabweans can travel freely to their country until 31 December. They must do so having filed their applications through the VFS Global outsourcing company of Home Affairs. We still await a clear press release statement from the SA Home Affairs that denounces the current existing contradictory proclamations and provisions.

For the dates after as from January 1st, the provision that has not been updated up to now is that Zimbabweans have to have for their outcome still in South Africa. Otherwise, they can't be allowed back into the country on the basis of a receipt that they have applied for a ZSP applications when their permit have officially expired on the 31 December 2014!

Further, we may add that ZIM-ID (SA), ZSP Permits Forum  and the Zimbabwean Community in SA is currently well represented and involved in an all stakeholders meeting in Limpopo as it was also attended by Ldr Gift Eglone, Fbr. Mthokozisi Ndiweni and other representatives. The stakeholders meeting includes the participation of the Regional SAPS Police Commissioner, Home Affairs Supervisors, Jesuit Refugee Services Representatives, Councillors and many more within Limpopo Province of South Africa.

The stakeholders meeting is an ongoing initiative concerning other pertinent issues affecting Zimbabweans especially within Limpopo Province such as xenophobic attacks, brutal murders of Zimbabweans, assistance for refugees from Zimbabwe, illegal immigrants and other foreign nationals. The first session of the meeting was held in Makhado-Louis Trichardt on 13 November 2014, and next session is currently scheduled for the 24 November 2014 within the same town.

We are indeed at the service of Zimbabweans at all times and they must feel free to contact us on any matters affecting them on the contact details attached with this press release. We indeed swear by good service deliverables to all fellow Zimbabweans, and promise to give a new people's hope even where there seems to be none especially to the Diasporans who are currently bankrolling the country of Zimbabwe through remittances while supporting their families back home!
