Open Letter to ZIFA President
26 Mar 2016 at 11:15hrs | Views
Firstly I would like to thank you for the great job you have done Dr Phillip Chiyangwa since you took over at Zifa.
Within a few months of your tenure we have seen a lot of developments from Warriors being paid, coaches' contracts being honoured, cars being bought for coaches,Setting up a fund for grassroots football(academies) from your Manifesto, finding sponsorship for Zifa(Sir Wicknell) you voting for the new FIFA president and lastly the Swazigate scandal that you have to deal with.
It feels like you have been in the office for a year now having only started working in December 2015 after winning the controversial elections.
There are certain areas that you also need to address as a matter of urgency the coming three months.
The issue of unpaid Mighty Warriors and Rio 2016 preparations, setting up the U17 coaching team and lastly but most important of all to assist our coach with identifying a football playing style and philosophy like other nations who have developed their own styles like Spain with Tiki taka, Germany with Gengen pressing, Brazil with Samba, Holland with Total Football, Italy with Catennacio just to mention a few.
A UK based Zimbabwe coach and entreprenuer Lord Morris Kakunguwo innovated a brand of iTouch football with the view of developing Zimbabwe football which for years has suffered due to this problem.
What is iTouch football?
It is possession based football with clearly defined objectives which if practiced at training can influence a team to dominate and win games. Its been adopted from other developed nations who have won the World Cup using these Evidence Based Tactics. Successfull coaches like Pep Guadiola,Joachim Low, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Pellegrini, Dunga and Sir Alex Ferguson
Coaches have been tasked to lead the Warriors but all they bring is club playing styles but not global playing styles that are modern and up to date.
Being a successfull football player will not make you a successful coach and being a successful club coach will not make you a successfull national team coach.
Callisto Pasuwa is a great coach but i think Saul Chaminuka is better technically as a coach.
The team is crying for help and at the bench there are no answers from our coaches. We definately need to do something about our playing identity.
Im more than will to help Pasuwa develop our own playing identity using our iTouch brand with its Pro-Touch coaching methods.
As we speak Saul Chaminuka must be preparing U17 for the future tournaments and playing for the Young Warriors and the Warriors.
We cannot continue playing mediocre and sub standard football with small nations like Cape Verde, Swaziland, Comoros, Botswana and Lesotho developing.
I m ready to help the nation read from the same football page with other developed nations. Its time to rise and shine for Zimbabwe.
