Open letter to Julius Malema

25 Jan 2017 at 07:44hrs | Views
I wonder why people seem to be shocked by Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema's utterances and behavior towards Zimbabwe and its leaders. For the record, his love for President Mugabe is not hidden and will never die.

We are not surprised because we are fully aware that what Malema wants to attract is just political relevance and Donald Trump's attention and that of other potential donors to bankroll his struggling party.

Let me also remind Malema's yesteryear utterances at a press conference in Johannesburg where he correctly pointed out that the problems in Zimbabwe are not caused by President Mugabe but by capital constrains.

Malema showered President Mugabe with praises saying that he is the only leader who knows the real change to come and that he remains a true revolutionary as he continues to lead a revolutionary party that advocates radical economic policies in Zimbabwe.

Was this not the very same Malema who said South Africa has lessons to learn from Zimbabwe in terms of emancipation of the landless poor? This about turn therefore speaks of truckloads of hypocrisy, behavior that is consistent with attention seekers whose lives are propelled by controversy.

Whatever Malema is smoking must truly drive a whole village very high. The truth of the matter is, if ever Malema is to one day seek asylum for whatever reason, his first destination will be Zimbabwe because of the congruency of his party's ideology to Zanu PF's. Zimbabweans love you despite the fact that your hatred to them is open.

Mr Malema Sir, it is by far not a secret that President Robert Mugabe's iconic leadership dwarfs that of the so called youthfuls in the halls of political fame. Dear Julius, if you have dismally failed to remove Jacob Zuma from the Union Buildings, do not attempt in Zimbabwe for it is a taller order. Your responsibilities must be streamlined to marketing your little party to the Boers out there so that come election time; South Africans may (like Zimbabweans) one day be proud owners of their God-given resources again.

I will not dignify you with a request to retract your statement; rather the tide of political sensibility will just blow away your little wish. Meanwhile, stay politically guided and concentrate more on self building than attempting to destroy taller bridges ahead of your political journey.
