Moeletsi Mbeki's think tank could be a project of westerners

EDITOR,
I could not believe it when I read an article in one of our local dailies where a Moeletsi Mbeki, who is said to be a deputy chairman of an independent think tank, South African Institute of International Affairs, nonsensically described President Mugabe as the worst African leader.
Honestly, I beg to differ with this man. It is known world over that President Mugabe is one among other African leaders who has excellent leadership qualities that are admired by most leaders worldwide.
I think Moeletsi Mbeki lost it. The man just needs to revisit his African history syllabus for him to know more of the achievements that were brought in by President Mugabe. Was it not him, Mbeki who stayed in Zimbabwe as a refugee under the good leadership of our President? So where exactly has our President gone wrong?
I remember during your exile days in Harare, you used to admire Bob unreservedly. We used to marvel together at the political dexterity of none other than Bob himself. But personally I understand where you got lost.
It is a feet that President Mugabe is a true Pan- Africanist. His outstanding economic policies and ideology have lifted Zimbabwe and the entire Africa to greater heights. To cut the story short, President Mugabe has defended Pan-African interests against neo-colonialism. As we celebrate Africa day, it is very noble to recognise Pan-Africanists like President Mugabe among others.
One scholar noted that Pan-Africanism fosters a sense of cooperative movement among peoples of African origin to unite their efforts in the struggle to liberate Africa and its scattered and suffering people.
Surely, President Mugabe's dual chairmanship of being the African Union (AU) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairperson tells it all that he is capable of leading not only Zimbabwe, but the regional bloc and AU.
The peace and tranquility that prevails in Zimbabwe, is an indication that President Mugabe is indeed a good leader. Unlike in other African countries where conflicts, due to political or religious differences are experienced day in and day out, in Zimbabwe people have freedom to belong to any political party or religion of their choice.
I wonder why it takes people from other countries to tell Zimbabwe that our President is bad. I guess there are better issues that this think tank of Mbeki should focus at instead of tarnishing the image of our President.
Moeletsi Mbeki's think tank could be a project of westerners who have an agenda of regime change in Africa. Mbeki should abstain from being used by the western community.
The majority of people will agree with me when I say it is us Zimbabweans who voted President Mugabe to lead us, hence, we cherish his wisdom and unwavering leadership.
