Ernest "Maphepha" Sibanda wanted a Mercedes Benz

FORMER Highlanders chairman Ernest "Maphepha" Sibanda wanted to buy a Mercedes Benz using spoils from Asiagate, we exclusively reveal.
According to Volume 38, Number 4 of the Handard, Sibanda is said to have disclosed to other Asiagate criminals that he wanted to buy a luxury Merc from the spoils of the match-fixing scam that Zifa stands accused of running.
Kambuzuma legislator, Willias Madzimure told Parliament on Thursday 22 September 2011 that:
"We have a situation where people like Ernest Sibanda went to Singapore and he was told pano tinotorova mari nhasi and he ended up getting US$600, which he did not sign for.
"It was not him only but the entire technical staff were given US$4-500. He wanted to buy a Mercedes Benz and in his report, Ernest Sibanda is saying , well I could not clear the car because when I got here the value which ZIMRA fixed on the vehicle was too high for me, so I ended up selling the vehicle," said the MP.
No-one has been arrested and prosecuted over Asiagate.
