Fernando Torres Transfer From Liverpool To Chelsea Is Done: Report
Fernando Torres is about to move from Liverpool to Chelsea. Ian Dennis is reporting on BBC Radio 5 Live that the deal is done, save for all of the formalities. Negotiations have been ongoing for quite some time, with Liverpool rejecting both an initial £35m bid and a transfer request from Torres. However, Liverpool are now set to let their prized possession go. No concrete figure has been given yet on the price, but estimates put the price at around £50m.
If the deal is done, it would certainly explain Liverpool's outrageous chase of Andy Carroll. Carroll and new arrival Luis Suarez would certainly make an interesting strike pairing. If they are either unable to sign Carroll or opt not to sign him, it will hardly be a worry for Liverpool. They should have a cool £50m to play with.
From a business standpoint, NESV and everyone involved with the deal at Liverpool deserve a round of applause. It appears that they have said all of the right things they needed to say in order to suck every penny out of Chelsea for Torres.
