KAIZER Chiefs striker Kingstone Nkhatha has rubbished speculation that he has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United.
Word in South Africa is that Nkhatha will join Matsatsantsa A Pitori on July 1 as his contract with Amakhosi expires on June 30."These are just rumours. I haven't signed any contract with SuperSport but there're some negotiations going on with them as my contract with Chiefs ends in June, any player would like to try his luck elsewhere.
"But I'm still contracted to Chiefs my job is to make sure that I put all my energies in the team. Our focus is to continue playing good football and maintain the momentum we started with," said Nkhatha.
Players are allowed to sign a contract with a new club if they have six months of their contract still to run. The Warriors striker said his heart was still at Chiefs and that he would try by all means to help the team win the league this season as it is their priority.
Amakhosi have not lost a single game since the Absa Premier Soccer League started last year.
Nkhatha has started 20 matches for Amakhosi this season and has scored three goals and created two goals.
The Warriors marksman joined Amakhosi from Black Leopards in July 2012 and made his debut league appearance against AmaZulu in a match won by his 6-0.
Last season was a difficult year for the Zimbabwean as Amakhosi followers booed him which led to the team coach Stuart Baxter standing by the player and threatening to quit if they continued.
PSL games resume next month after the Africa Cup of Nations finals to be hosted by Equatorial Guinea from January 17.
