A highly rated Zimbabwean youngster has signed his first professional contract with Ipswich Town.

Kundai Benyu has signed a two-and- a-half-year contract and he is chuffed.

The 17-year-old midfielder is still a first year scholar but has impressed regularly for Ipswich U21s this season and has been involved with the first team, travelling with the squad for their game at Brighton last month.

Benyu even delivered an initiation song on the team bus although manager Mick McCarthy joked: 'I was told he could sing, what a lie that was.'
