ZIMBABWE'S victory over Swaziland in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has earned them an upward move on the FIFA world rankings after they climbed four places.
The Warriors are now ranked 127th in the world.
The Warriors demolished Sihlangu 4-0 at the National Sports Stadium last week to take charge of Group L in the qualifiers with two rounds of matches remaining.
The win was preceded by an away 1-1 draw in Swaziland and should be a huge motivation ahead of their next assignment against Malawi in June.
The latest rankings, released yesterday, show that Zimbabwe's progress was insignificant as they remained in the doldrums after spending the last two months pegged at their lowest ranking.
The Warriors dropped to 131 in the world in February.
They could also not make significant moves on the continental charts as they are now ranked number 39, two places better than their previous ranking.
Swaziland paid dearly for the loss to Zimbabwe in the qualifiers as they dropped 10 places to 134 in the world.
Guinea rose five places to 58 while Malawi went the opposite direction as they dropped three places to 115th following their 2-1 home defeat to the West Africans.
There are new leaders in Africa after Algeria returned to the top to replace last month's surprise leaders Cape Verde who fell to sixth place on the continent.
Cape Verde tumbled 10 places down the world rankings to number 47.
The Blue Sharks lost back-to-back fixtures to Morocco in the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
