THE concert featuring veteran South African musician Dan Tshanda tomorrow night has been moved from the Bulawayo Amphitheatre to the Large City Hall.
This is not the first setback for the show which was supposed to have been held on 6 April but had to be postponed.
The popular musician was supposed to also hold a show at Hwange Colliery Stadium the day before his appearance in Bulawayo, but that also did not happen.
For tomorrow night's show Tshanda will be backed by a stellar cast of musicians that include Dalom Kids, Peacock and Matshikos.
Local artistes Martin and Ndolwane Super Sounds, Ndee Nduna and Gregory Ncube will also feature.
In an interview, organiser of the show John Kafuta said they had moved the show because they had been informed by the police that the Amphitheatre was not a secure venue.
He said City Hall was a safer venue for fans and it was also easier to maintain security.
"The show has been moved to the City Hall because the police informed us that the Bulawayo Amphitheatre is not a safe venue and it would be better if we moved the concert.
"As the show is happening during the trade fair period, and also because the Amphitheatre does not have enough lighting, visitors might be in danger of falling victim to crime if they attend the show," he said.
Kafuta said that the Large City Hall was also a better venue for fans that were worried for their own personal safety or that of their property.
He said that nothing else, besides the venue, had changed.
"There will be tight security at the City Hall. There is a lot of parking space and cover fee remains at $10," he said.
Kafuta said that fans should not be worried that the show would not go ahead as they had made the necessary arrangements to make sure the show went ahead as planned.
He added that fans would get the opportunity to meet Tshanda as he would be making an appearance at the trade fair to promote the show.
"People should not be worried because, as we speak Dan Tshanda is on his way to the country. Fans who may be worried that he will not come for the show can come to the trade fair where they can get an opportunity to meet him in person.
"We will have a tour of the fair with him and he will be distributing flyers for the show," he said.
