POPULAR South African afro-pop and disco musician Patricia Majalisa is expected back in the country next month where she has lined up two shows.

Majalisa will hold her first show on 29 November in Bulawayo at Amphitheatre before another one on 6 December at Hwange Colliery Stadium.

The concerts will be graced by other South African performers such as ex-Peacock name bearer, Mpendulo "General" Dumazile, Silindile Mthinyane, Thabile Mazohwane, Bongile "Stress," who all left fans spellbound at their show last month at Amphitheatre.

Local musician and man of the moment, Martin Sibanda and Ndolwane Super Sounds will also take part in the two shows.

Martin is riding high with his song Bakhuzeni, which together with his stage performances have seen his band command a huge following in Bulawayo.

In an interview, show promoter Kingston Lussate of Lussate Promotions said Majalisa was coming back due to public demand.

"We all saw how fans reacted to her show last month, she gave a brilliant show and fans are still talking about it. We decided to engage her for these shows and this time around the gig will begin from where it ended," he said.

Lussate said they were doing all they could to bring top entertainment to Bulawayo and fans should expect a lively festive season.

"We are busy negotiating with artistes in our quest to bring more entertainment to the city. We have been lagging behind other cities and towns in terms of having top weekly entertainment. Fans should brace themselves for an Oliver Mtukudzi and Sulumani show which will be held in December," he said.

Lussate said they have already signed a contract with Majalisa for next month's shows.

"She was here sometime last week and we finalised a contract which she signed. She is more professional than (Dan) Tshanda and we are happy to do business with her," he said.

Majalisa kicked off her career, over 25 years ago, with Tshanda as part of Dalom Kids.

She has since gone solo and has been captivating thousands with her music that has found favour in the high density suburbs of Bulawayo and much of Matabeleland.

She commands a great following in the region as a solo artiste, but many know her as part of Dan Tshanda's stable.

Songs that have mesmerised many include the hit with Dalom Kids Nomathemba and Uwee Uwee (Umqophoqopho).

Under the mentorship of Tshanda, Majalisa released songs on albums like Umona, which have rocked many radio stations in the region.

She left Tshanda's Dalom Kids Records last year and has established her own Majalisa Records.
