South Africa artiste Oscar "Oskido Mdlongwa and company had a nightmare show in Harare over the weekend with very few fans showing up. While another South African group, Liquideep, had a good day in the 'Sunshine City'.

It was a case of two contrasting tales for gigs held over the weekend: one at the Harare International Conference Centre and another at The Rainbow Towers' VIP Lounge.

While the one featuring the house group Liquideep on Friday had a good attendance, Oskido, Dr Malinga and DJ Pepsi had a nightmare show with very few fans showing up.

Liquideep was supported by a number of Zimbabwean musicians such as Ammara Brown, Killer T, Guspy Warrior, MMT, Mudiwa and Dhadza D to mention a few.

The "Fairytale" hitmakers surprised many when they performed for the first time in Harare with a live band. Their previous shows were sold out although they used backtracks.

This time around they brought a jazzy feel to house music. Guspy Warrior and Killer T delivered some of their best performances to date. Mudiwa turned on his style on stage to the delight of the audience, as did Smylie of the "Magetsi" fame.

Dhadza D started on a low note and later upped his act with the hit "Dairai". Despite having a long list of hits, Oskido's show was poorly attended and an embarrassment to say the least. Perhaps, the organisers must have avoided staging the gig when Liquideep had performed the night before.

The other option was to combine the two shows since Liquideep and Oskido essentially share the same following. Fans interviewed by The Herald Entertainment attributed the poor attendance to rains that pounded the capital before the start of the show.
