Zimbabwe's Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Joey Bimha says all is set for the Zimbabwe government delegation to travel to Brussels for the resumption of the European Union (EU)-Zimbabwe dialogue to normalise relations between the two sides.
The dialogue between Zimbabwe and the 27-member economic bloc will be held on Thursday the 10th of this month.
The Zimbabwean side will be represented by Patrick Chinamasa of Zanu-PF, Mr Elton Mangoma of MDC-T and MDC's Mrs Priscilla Misihairambwi-Mushonga.
Speaking to reporters in Harare, Ambassador Bimha said all members of the delegation have been issued with their travel visas and they are expected to leave Harare on Tuesday evening.
In the past, Zanu-PF members of the Re-engagement Committee, which is made up of the negotiators of the Global Political Agreement, were either denied visas or given at the last minute due to the travel ban that was imposed on several party leaders and those who are deemed by the EU to be close associates of the liberation party.
Chairman of the Re-engagement Committee, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, who is unable to attend the meeting due to other engagements, has been replaced for the Brussels meeting by Energy and Power Development Minister, Mr Mangoma.
Ambassador Bimha said the Zimbabwean side has agreed that the unconditional removal of the 'illegal sanctions' is the main obstacle hindering the normalisation of the Zim-EU ties.
