Man loses $45K to armed robbers

A man lost more than $45K to armed robbers in Bulawayo on Saturday afternoon.
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo province Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident which happened between Metropeech Shop Batch Street and 6th Avenue.
"The ZRP is investigating a robbery case that occurred in Bulawayo on 09/07/22 at around 1245 hours, where a man (46) was robbed of US$45 110 cash which he claims was meant for payment of goods at the shop.
The victim was dragged from the shop by three men armed with an unidentified pistol. They snatched his cash box before getting into their getaway silver Honda Fit vehicle and sped off", read a statement from the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Cases of armed robbers are on the increase in the country with a similar case recorded in Harare last week when robbers vanished with close to US$80 000 at a Standard Chartered ATM.
