Vimbai "Chocolate" Muzuva, once a popular pole dancer and stripper on Harare's nightlife scene, has turned her back on the stage and embraced a new life as a born-again Christian.

Chocolate, as she was famously known in the adult entertainment industry, is now married to a pastor and has rebranded herself under her real name. Sources close to her say she has changed her contact details and social media platforms, becoming more private and only accessible through her Facebook page.

Her former manager, Shephard "Sherpy Taz" Tsandukwa, confirmed her transformation and expressed joy at her decision to embrace Christianity.

"I am glad that Chocolate, whom I once managed, has turned to God after winning her battle against drug abuse," said Tsandukwa. "She was a talented dancer who made a name for herself in strip clubs and even toured China in 2013 to perform in nightclubs. But she went through dark times, including substance abuse, which cost her friends and opportunities. Now she is a changed person, focused on God's ministry and running a small business in Glen View selling beauty products."

Tsandukwa recalled the highs and lows of managing her career, from her rivalry with dancers such as Beverly Sibanda and Zoey, to her troubled relationship with the late Zimdancehall star Soul Jah Love. Despite challenges, he said her turnaround shows it is "never too late" to change.

The president of the Dancers Association of Zimbabwe (DAZ), Harpers Mapimhidze, echoed similar sentiments, describing Muzuva's transformation as a relief.

"Earlier this year, it was impossible to have a meaningful conversation with her because of drugs. She was erratic and violent. Now she has dedicated her life to God, and her husband has helped her cut ties with old friends to avoid temptation," Mapimhidze said.

On Facebook, Muzuva has been sharing scriptures and spiritual messages, a sharp contrast to her past life of flashing lights and pulsating music.

Once known for dominating the dance floor, Chocolate's story has now shifted to the pulpit, where she says her mission is to inspire others that redemption is possible.
