Drug dealer swallows 1,5kgs of cocaine

A Montrose drug peddler in Bulawayo swallowed a huge stash of cocaine when police from the Drugs and Narcotics section pounced on him.
Gareth Mayers, 56, panicked when police raided his house after he had just supplied one of his clients.
The incident happened on June 5 and police says Mayers swallowed "a significant amount of cocaine packaged for resale."
Acting on a tip off, the detectives saw Mayes' client a female identified as Athea knocking at Mayes gate.
After about 10 minutes, Josifakas left the house with Mayes wife - Silibaziso Mutandi.
Before parting ways, the detectives pounced on her and swiftly conducted a body search and discovered a white substance wrapped in a plastic bag.
Police asked her to take them to Mayes who was watching through the window.
In panic, Mayes swallowed the drugs.
