Sanitation conference kicks off at ZITF

The second edition of the water, sanitation and hygiene and energy conference (WASHEN 2015), kicks off today at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo with more than 150 delegates having registered to take part in the deliberations.

The conference, running for two days, is supported by an exhibition of relevant products and services, ZITF general manager Nomathemba Ndlovu said on Wednesday.

The conference is coming at an ideal time as the UN's millennium development goals (MDGs) come to an end, and the sustainable development goals (SDGs) that will replace them are ratified. Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to be the guest of honour at the event.
