A Businessman Courage Sakarombe and his company, Powerite Company appeared in court facing allegations of duped socialite Joseph Tazviona Mhaka known in his circles as Chief Jose in a botched solar panel installation deal.
Sakarombe and his company appeared before Harare magistrate Tildah Mazhindu with theft of trust property charges.
Chief Jose is alleged to have lost $3000 in the deal.
The alleged theft happened on June last year. Chief Jose bought eight heavy duty solar batteries from Powerite Company where Sakarombe is the managing director.
Jose is also said to have bought 3Kv invertors from the same company and was given a year warranty. Sakarombe alleged went to install the batteries at Jose's Chishawasha house but they never worked properly.
Jose asked Sakarombe top repair the faulty batteries and he allegedly went on to remove the whole system from the house. Sakarombe never return to install the batteries prompting Jose to file a police report.
