'Tsvangirai sees value in Mujuru'

A political commentator Chamunorwa Mafaraā€ˇ has said MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has seen value in National People's Party leader Joice Mujuru that is why he opted to have a coalition with her ahead of any other political party.

Mafara said there must be a reason why Tsvangirai sees value in Mujuru.

"There must be a reason that of all the opposition leaders, Mujuru commands the most buzz after Tsvangirai. The biggest gripe most have with Mujuru is that she was for a long time a member, a very senior leader of the same Zanu-PF that she is now fighting. The same Zanu-PF that she now blames for all the troubles the nation is facing. The same Zanu-PF that she did not resign but was chased away from. I too have trouble with these facts. The thing with trust is that it is a very perishable commodity," he said.

"But still, hope is what has always ran the world. Hope for more. Hope for better. Hope for change. Hope for hope. Perhaps the doctor had long wanted to protest the way the nation was headed but felt trapped. Perhaps she didn't fight her dismisal because she had long wanted to leave. Perhaps her dismissal was her damascan moment. Everyone has as equal chance as the next to change. I would advice her that to regain the trust of the people, she shouldn't tell falsehoods."

Mafara said Mujuru should accept blame for her complicity in all Zanu-PF horrors and apologise.

"Then outline clear strategies on how to end the country's woes. If she handles her campaign well, she can be a major upset in 2018. The youth can win anyone an election. You talk to them in their language and they will hear you," Mafara said.
