A political commentator George Mkhwanazi has said the Zezuru or Gushungo hegemony is making it very difficult for the ruling Zanu PF to be removed from the helm.

"The day I discovered how intricately interwoven the Zanu PF power structure is I really got worried about prospects of removing this bunch of kleptomaniacs.

"There is a clique of consanguineous relations occupying various nests of power and passing for technocrats when they are passionately partisan family members.

"This makes the removal of the rabid party impossible considering what is reported to have happened to Rita Mukarau's predecessors who didn't protect ZANU PF hegemony," he said.

Mkhwanazi also said: "According to sources privy to the ongoings in the centre of power, there are many of President Mugabe's close relatives who are holding or once held strategic positions but fronted as democratically elected leaders.

"These include, inter alia, current Home Affairs Minister Ignatius Chombo, Minister of Mines Chidakwa, Minister of Youth Affairs, Patrick Zhuwao, Senate President Edna Madzongwe, Deputy Police Commissioner-General Innocent Matibiri, Chief Justice Luke Malaba, Judicial Services Commission Rita Makaru, thee late Vice President John Nkomo, COO of AirZim, Simba Chikore, Zinara Board Chairman Albert Mugabe, Lands Minister Douglas Mombeshora, Board Member at the State Censorship, Bona Mugabe Chikore who is also tipped to become board member of future Empowerment Bank."

He said with all these family deployees in strategic state organs, how does one defeat the evil regime?
