LUPANE provincial magistrate Ndumo Masuku is today expected to deliver judgment in a case where Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) leader Mqondisi Moyo faces charges of holding an unsanctioned meeting in the Matabeleland North capital.
Moyo and a number of MRP officials were arrested in Lupane in December 2016 after addressing villagers during the party's celebrations held at Mlamuli village.
Some of the arrested MRP party officials include secretary-general, Hloniphani Ncube, treasurer, Brighton Sibanda and secretary for information and publicity, Mbonisi Gumbo.
The matter was on Tuesday adjourned to today after Moyo's lawyer, Dumisani Dube of Ncube Mathonsi Law Chambers, failed to turn up due to engagements at the High Court in Bulawayo.
Dube has instructed Maqhawe Mpofu of Abammeli Human Rights Lawyers Network to stand in his stead.
Moyo is accused of contravening section 25(1)5 of the Public Order and Security Act: Notice of Processions, Public Demonstrations and Public Meeting.
