Tensions are widening in the MDC Alliance with parties failing to agree on the candidates for parliamentary elections.
MDC-T, People's Democratic Party and Multi-Racial Christian Democrats have failed to agree on the candidate to represent Makoni North constituency.
While Biti's PDP announced the candidature of Moses Manyengavana, Mathius Guchutu led MCD seconded Sabastian Mubvumbi to represent the alliance and he had already rolled out his campaign, MDC-T wanted local businessman David Tekeshe.
However, it is said that Tekeshe retreated to Makoni Central but MDC-T Makoni district leadership now wants his son to stand on the Chamisa led party ticket.
"MDC-T Makoni North leadership has declared that they do not subscribe to the Alliance agreement. They have even told the leadership that they do not want candidates seconded by either of the alliance partners.
"One guy called Nyeche has been de-campaigning Mubvumbi and Manyengavana saying they are not even visible on the ground and also do not have support."
Due to the confusion, Byo24News understands MCD leadership embarked on a fact finding mission to establish if the allegations of Mubvumbi's invisibility are true.
On the other hand, Biti and his PDP leadership have also been trying to convince alliance leader, Chamisa that Manyangavana is the man for the constituency.
"Nyeche wants to confuse the electorate. He knows people are aware that David Tekeshe opted out of Makoni North, but he continues telling the electorate that Tekeshe is their candidate. However, he is not telling them that it is now David's son.
Candidates selection has been the major hurdle in the Nelson Chamisa led alliance with members within the MDC-T complaining that they have stood with the party for a long time but are being sidelined.
Disgruntled MDC-T members claim their party is the only one with figures and others are riding on their back.
