TWELVE people were injured in two separate road traffic accidents that occurred on Tuesday in Bulawayo.
One of the accidents involved a Nissan UD truck, Toyota Wish and two Honda Fit vehicles that were parked along Third Avenue.
The Nissan UD truck travelling along Herbert Chitepo Street failed to give way to the Toyota Wish that was coming from the western suburbs at the 3rd Avenue intersection at around 6AM.
The truck rammed into the Toyota Wish, sending in crashing into two parked Honda Fit vehicles.
Six people were injured and sustained varying fractures.
The second accident occurred around 4PM in Pumula suburb, injuring another six passengers.
Bulawayo's chief fire officer Mr Richard Peterson confirmed both accidents.
"Six people were injured in this accident and were all conveyed to Mpilo Central Hospital where they are receiving treatment," he said.
On the second accident, Mr Peterson said:
"A commuter omnibus travelling from Pumula suburb to the city crashed into another commuter omnibus which had stopped in the road at Hyde Park Road opposite Kwezi.
"The kombi that was hit on the back had four passengers and the other had two passengers and all six were injured in the process."
He said some of the injured were rushed to the United Bulawayo Hospitals and others to Mater Dei Hospit
