Mzembi elected Continental Travel Association chairman

Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi has been elected president of the Africa Travel Association (ATA) at its 37th congress and will lead the organisation for the next two years.
Zimbabwe this year hosted the ATA congress that attracted 615 local and foreign delegates.
ATA is a non-profit international travel industry trade association established in 1975. It organises travel industry trade events on a year-round basis, drawing participants from all over the world.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority chief executive officer Karikoga Kaseke said the election of Mzembi was a great honour.
'Its a great honour to bestow leadership on our minister," said Kaseke.
Other countries that will form part of the board to lead ATA constitutes officials from Kenya, Central Africa Republic, Zambia, Uganda, Nigeria and Cameroon.
Victoria Falls based Khanondo safaris and tours was also elected to the board.
In March last year Mzembi was crowned African Tourism minister for being at the forefront of spearheading regional integration plan through the country's chairmanship of the Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (RETOSA).
He is credited with visionary leadership and direction for the country's tourism industry.
Kaseke said the congress had progressed well with the country moving fast to establish a local chapter of the young professionals programme.
