Highlanders goalscorer Prince Dube dashes away from Chapungu defender Johnson Mabugu
Highlanders 1 - 0 Chapungu
Highlanders ended their three-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Chapungu on Wednesday, thanks to a first-half goal from Prince Dube.
The match had a cagey start with the first chance coming in the 8th minute when Dube's header went wide. The hosts replied some moments later with an effort from a set-piece just outside the box but Edmore Muzanenhamo took it off target.
Chapungu came back again on minute 22 with Patrick Khumbula who was superbly denied by Ariel Sibanda.
Bosso got a penalty on the half-hour after Piniel Gumbo fouled Ray Lunga inside the box. Dube stepped up and made no mistake to give the visitors the lead.
The Air force side had their best chance in the game coming in the second half when Denver Mukamba beat his markers in the box before hitting his effort wide.
The scoreline remained unchanged as Highlanders claimed their first set of maximum points since Mandla Mpofu took over the reins at the beginning of last month.
Elsewhere, Ascot Stadium hosted its first match of the campaign when TelOne drew Chicken Inn 0-0.
The venue recently got approval to host league games after some renovations.
