Shopkeeper jailed for sleeping with minor

A 21-YEAR-OLD Bindura shopkeeper was sentenced to an effective four months jail term after sleeping with a 15 year old girl on three different occasions inside the shop by a Bindura magistrate yesterday.
Tawanda Tandagumi pleaded guilty to the charge before magistrate Ethel Chichera.
Prosecutor Vincent Marunya told the court that sometime in December last year the Tandagumi who worked together with the complainant at the same complex where she was working in the butchery proposed love to her and she accepted.
On three different occasions they had sex in the shop.
The matter came to light after the convict testified to the church elders that he had sex with the complainant.
The elders told the girl's parents who then escorted her to the police station to file a report leading to his arrest.
