The ruling ZANU PF showed force and presence in Binga when the party held the mother of all rallies in the remote area of Binga, Mat North.

The party managed to reduce the margins in its defeat by incumbent opposition MP Prince Dubeko Sibanda.

Obert Mpofu and Richard Moyo turned out to be the heroes of Mat North as they were visible on the ground talking to people and urging them to vote for ZANU PF.

People in Tsholotsho, Bubi and Binga praised Obert Mpofu for taking his time from National duties to come and here the needs of the people in the remote areas of Zimbabwe.

The people complained that some of the leaders were only visible when they needed votes. However Obert Mpofu and Richard Moyo were not standing in the 26 March by election even though they went to the ground to help those who were standing for the party.

Enias Dube a ZPRA cadre said "Obert Mpofu displayed true servant leadership by coming to the grassroots and spending time with the people. I respect Obert Mpofu for his humility and how he listened to everyone regardless of our views. Some of these politicians who claim to represent Matebeleland we only see them in the newspapers and they never come to meet with us while they claim to speak for us in cabinet , politburo , parliament and other such platforms."

Kerita Ndlovu from Bubi said "ZANU PF needs people who will work for the party , people who will be visible on the ground if we are to attain the 5 million votes for ED."
