Machete wielding robbers jailed 10 years

THREE machete wielding robbers who robbed a Bindura cellphone dealer of his car and belongings were sentenced to 10 years each in jail by Bindura Regional magistrate Amos Mbobo.
Richard Chibaya (28),Admire Makope(26) and Paddington Andrew Mashanga(25) were sentenced after full trial.
Prosecutor Ngoni Kaseke told the court that on 14 January the trio pounced on Fungai Nyika's (28) house around 11pm and ambushed him.
The unsuspecting Nyika came driving his Mercedes Benz with registration number AKF 6420 containing US$1700 in the dashboard and a number of cell phones.
When Nyika disembarked from the vehicle the robbers advanced and assaulted him before demanding cash, mobile cellphones and car keys.
Nyika gave in and surrendered everything.
They tired him with wires, removed the cars number plates and drove away before dumping the car along Lomagundi road in Harare.
They went away with the car keys and their loot.
One of the stolen cellphone was used to track the robbers.
