Gwanda man arrested for killing drinking mate over beer

A 24 year old man from Sigodo area in Gwanda has been arrested for killing a drinking mate in a dispute over beer.
Matabeleland South Police Spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena said Mkhulisi Ncube and Nkosinodumo Nyoni(27) both of Gwakwe village fought due a petty issue leading to the death of Nyoni.
Mangena said the incident happened on April 16.
She said Nyoni (deceased) and Ncube were drinking beer at Sigodo bottle store and a misunderstanding erupted when Nyoni drank Ncube's freind beer.
"Ncube and his friend went outside the bar, Nyoni followed them and a fight started resulting in both of them getting injured. Nyoni got hurt on the head and on the thigh and Ncube was injured on the body," she said.
Mangena said Nyoni was then taken to Gwanda provincial hospital since he was seriously injured and he was confirmed dead on arrival.
