POLICE are hunting for two suspects accused of attempting to kill two villagers using dangerous weapons.
Matabeleland South police spokesperson, Loveness Mangena said police were looking for Mathuba Mgcini and Phoki Mntambo who attacked Sitwell Zondeka and his nephew.
She said the incident happened on April 17 when Zondo was watching social soccer. She said chaos broke out and people started throwing stones in the pitch.
Mangena said Mntambo, struck Zondeka's nephew with a stone and when the suspect was confronted, Mathuba hit him with a bolt on the forehead.
"Phoki also struck him with an axe on the head," Mangena said
"The matter was reported to Fort Rixon police on April 24."
She said they have launched a manhunt for the suspects as they are investigating a case of attempted murder which occurred at PBS village 2, Fort Rixon.
"We are kin to interview the two suspects. We are appealing to members of the public with information which may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the nearest police station," she said.
"We urge members of the public not to resort to violence as a way of solving disputes."
She said third party intervention is always the best.
