THE long arm of the law finally caught up with a fugitive that had been on the run for allegedly murdering a man at a nightclub back in October 2017.
Braveman Twala from Silobela in the Midlands Province was arrested in Emakhandeni suburb in Bulawayo by detectives who had received a tip-off on his hideout.
Twala is accused of murdering Takunda Phiri of Sibomva Village in Silobela in 2017.
He was granted bail but absconded court and had been on the run for five years.
On 25 June 2022, Luveve detectives received information that Twala was hiding in Emakhandeni suburb and a raid was conducted at the hideout and the suspect was arrested.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and urged the public to continue assisting police with information that leads to the arrest of fugitives.
"I can confirm that we have apprehended a murder accused suspect who was hiding in Bulawayo and would like to applaud the public for their assistance. It is our wish that the good relationship between members of the public and the police continues so that we make our society a better place," said Inspector Ncube.
