Malinga laid to rest

Today, Joshua Malinga, a late member of the Zanu-PF Politburo and a special adviser to President Mnangagwa's office, was laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre.
Malinga, who had been declared a national hero, was interred in a ceremony that saw mourners from various quarters, including the revolutionary party, the Government, and diplomatic services.
During his keynote address, President Mnangagwa characterized Malinga as a highly decorated nationalist, known for his bravery, courage, and commitment to human rights.
"His unwavering defense of and deep love for our beloved homeland, Zimbabwe, led to Malinga enduring unjust and illegal sanctions," stated President Mnangagwa. "We pay him the honor he truly deserves and bid him a fitting farewell as we lay him to rest alongside his fellow patriots here at the National Heroes Acre."
"We shall forever hold in high esteem the pivotal role he played in our struggle for independence and in advancing our nation's development by advocating for the interests of special groups in public policy and inclusive national progress."
