Chiwenga meets Tajikistan President

Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon to explore economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and Tajikistan. The meeting took place during the third Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference, attended by representatives from various UN member states.
President Mnangagwa has emphasized the importance of economic diplomacy, directing government representatives to foster economic relationships globally. Chiwenga discussed potential collaborations in agriculture, mining, industry, and tourism with President Rahmon, aiming to benefit both countries.
Tajikistan's economy has been growing, with significant potential in water and hydro-power, agriculture, food processing, mineral resources, and tourism. The World Bank highlights Tajikistan's strong economic performance, averaging a growth rate of over 7.1% in the past decade, and a reduction in poverty from 32% in 2009 to 12.4% in 2022.
Additionally, Chiwenga met informally with Zambia's Vice President WK Mutale Nalumango and Angola's Vice President Esperanca da Costa at a dinner hosted by the Tajikistan Government.
