President Mnangagwa, speaking at the 10th CEO Africa Roundtable conference in Victoria Falls, urged Zimbabweans to be proud of their country's progress despite 24 years of illegal sanctions. He highlighted that these sanctions, intended to cause internal turmoil, instead strengthened national unity and spurred economic growth. Mnangagwa emphasized that Zimbabwe's achievements, recognized by the World Bank and global investors, reflect the country's resilience and strategic economic reforms.
He called for continued unity and national pride, stressing the importance of mutual respect in international relations. Despite sanctions, Zimbabwe has seen growth in agriculture, manufacturing, and ICT sectors, and the President expressed confidence in ongoing development under his administration. He also reaffirmed the justification of the Land Reform Programme and the nation's right to its land.
Mnangagwa reassured that Zimbabwe seeks positive international relations while maintaining its identity. He encouraged Zimbabweans to remain resolute, advocating for dignity and self-respect in global interactions. The President's address underscored the country's determination to thrive despite external pressures, aiming for an upper middle-income society by 2030.
