Police have offered a reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of Guruve murder suspect Anymore Zvitsva.

Contrary to earlier reports and a circulating video, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that a monetary reward will be given to anyone who provides credible information leading to the location and arrest of Zvitsva, 32. The exact amount has not been disclosed.

Zvitsva has been on the run for several days after allegedly killing five members of the same family in Guruve, Mashonaland Central Province. ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on Friday that anyone providing information will be duly rewarded, as pledged by the Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba. Nyathi added:

"The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges those with information to contact the National Complaints Desk on 0242 703631, WhatsApp 0712800197, or the Officer Commanding Guruve Police District, Chief Superintendent Marange, on 0719010093. Alternatively, approach any nearest police station."

In a separate case, police are investigating the brutal murder of a 55-year-old woman and a six-month-old infant at Farm 88, Nyakapupu, Guruve, on 18 December 2025. The victims were found with multiple head injuries.

Zvitsva, from Bangira Village, Mutsami Kraal under Chief Chipuriro, is alleged to have murdered five relatives on the night of 11 December at Plot 9, Ona Farm. The victims were identified as Grace Zvitsva (66), Loice Chiringaushe (37), Takudzwa Kariva (5), Tatenda Chirenje (2), and Tendai Zvitsva (40). Five other children sleeping in a separate room escaped unharmed.

A neighbour raised the alarm after hearing disturbances at the homestead. Tendai Zvitsva was found alive but critically injured and later died at Guruve Hospital, while the bodies of the other four victims were discovered inside the house.

Police have also linked Zvitsva to three other murders in Zimuna Village under Chief Bepura, where Pamela, Kudzai, and Tawanda Chipangura were killed in a separate incident still under investigation.

An extensive manhunt is underway, with police deploying drones, Support Unit officers, CID detectives, canine units, horse patrols, and intelligence operatives amid fears the suspect may be hiding in forested and mountainous areas around Guruve. The motive remains unclear, though police indicated Zvitsva is believed to have mental health challenges and urged families not to ignore signs of instability.
