ZANU-PF chairman for Mashonaland East, Daniel Garwe, has cautioned party members and supporters against misusing social media to bring the revolutionary party into disrepute. Speaking during an interface meeting with Ward 10 party members in Murewa District, he emphasized the importance of unity and discipline within the party.

Garwe used the platform to thank supporters for turning out in large numbers during the 2023 elections, securing a resounding victory for President Emmerson Mnangagwa and ZANU-PF. He reminded members that it was President Mnangagwa's directive for all elected officials to return to their constituencies and express gratitude to the people.

"We are here to thank you on behalf of the President. We are also appealing to you to shun social media abuse. Some individuals continuously insult our leadership on these platforms. Such people are not true ZANU-PF members or supporters. We do not tolerate wayward behavior where the Presidium is always attacked on social media," said Garwe.

He warned that if left unchecked, social media abuse could be used to undermine the party and its leadership. He also took the opportunity to address concerns about Blessed Geza, urging members to disregard his statements.

"After we voted for the President, people like Blessed Geza have taken to social media to speak ill about him. We believe he is being sent by certain elements. To me, Geza is a sellout. If he has any issues, he should engage the President directly rather than resort to public attacks. As we speak, he is a wanted man for various offenses," said Garwe.

He praised President Mnangagwa's achievements over the past five years, highlighting successes in food security, agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He pointed to the-PFumvudza/Intwasa programme, the revitalization of irrigation schemes, and the implementation of Heritage-Based Education 5.0 as examples of progress under the Second Republic.

"The President has ensured that devolution funds are being put to good use, with many clinics built for the people. Roads are being improved, and no one went hungry despite the El Niño-induced drought affecting Southern Africa," he added.

Garwe also commended First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for her efforts in restoring Zimbabwean cultural values. He described President Mnangagwa as a unifier who promotes national development beyond political affiliation.

"He is calling on all Zimbabweans, regardless of political background, to join hands in building our nation. No one will come from outside to develop Zimbabwe for us. ‘Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,' and that is exactly what we must do," he said.

He urged supporters to pray for the country and its leadership, calling for divine guidance in Zimbabwe's development journey.

Murewa ZANU-PF District Coordinating Committee chair, Israel Maliki, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing party discipline and unity. He warned against external influences seeking to destabilize Zimbabwe through social media.

"ZANU-PF is a party with direction, strength, and unity. Despite negative statements on social media, the party remains disciplined. We must protect our leadership and our country. It is against our culture to disrespect our leaders. Let us embrace Ubuntu," he said.

The meeting, attended by members of the provincial executive led by provincial commissar Lincon Matare, served as a platform to update members on resolutions from the ZANU-PF Annual People's Conference held in Bulawayo last year.
