Loafers rob security guard at knife-point

BUHERA - Two Murambinda-based loafers turned blind eyes on dire straits experienced by a local security guard during current cold spells and robbed him of a cellphone and only subsistence US$12 in his pocket at knife-point.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Manicaland provincial spokesperson, Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed that police in Murambinda arrested Bright Tinashe Shereni (28) and Lazarus Makuvi (39) all from Goto village under Chief Nyashanu in Buhera in connection with a robbery case.
"Police in Murambinda have arrested Bright Tinashe Shereni and Lazarus Makuvi from Goto village under Chief Nyashanu in connection with a case of robbery were the complaint, Phillip Kwangware (34) who is employed at Sabi Star Quarry Mine's security guard was robbed by the two at knife-point," Inspector Chinyoka said.
"Allegations were that Kwangware left his place of residence going to report for routine night-shift duty at the Mine company's offices near Dreams Business centre (Murambinda) where he was approached by the two accused who questioned where he was coming from. Before he answered, they commanded him to sit down and he complied. One of the accused Bright Tinashe Shereni demanded money from him and they forked out his only US$12 and a cellphone from the pocket while they hold a knife threatening to kill him," Chinyoka added.
"After taking everything form the complaint, the two accused fled into darkness leaving their victims alone. Luckily, the complaint filed a report with officers nearby leading to the culprits' apprehension," Insp. Chinyoka said.
