Castle Lager Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos have been summoned to appear before the Premier Soccer League's Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium last Sunday.

The game, which ended prematurely in the 75th minute, was halted after Dynamos players and technical officials protested a penalty awarded to hosts FC Platinum. The decision sparked outrage within the DeMbare camp, with players walking off the pitch in defiance, effectively bringing the match to an abrupt end.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the PSL confirmed that Dynamos will face disciplinary proceedings for their role in the incident.

"The Premier Soccer League has summoned Dynamos FC to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum played at Mandava Stadium on Sunday 22 June 2025," read the statement.

"Dynamos FC is being charged with causing the abandonment of a match and ungentlemanly conduct by the team's technical officials."

The controversy erupted when referee Quedisani Dirwai awarded FC Platinum a penalty after ruling that Dynamos captain Emmanuel Jalai had fouled Oscar Bhebhe inside the box. At the time, the match was delicately poised at 1-1, with FC Platinum having equalised through in-form striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.

The decision proved to be a flashpoint, with Dynamos players and technical staff vehemently contesting the call. Despite appeals to resume play, the team refused to continue, resulting in the abandonment of the fixture.

The PSL Disciplinary Committee is now expected to review the matter and determine whether sanctions will be imposed on Dynamos, which could include fines, forfeiture of points, or other disciplinary measures.

The incident has sparked fresh debate over officiating standards in local football and raised questions about how teams and referees handle high-stakes moments in the league.
