Munhumutapa day is not a public holiday
4 hrs ago | Views

The Government has clarified that Munhumutapa Day, scheduled for September 15, is not a public holiday, despite widespread confusion.
Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe emphasized that the day "was never declared a holiday."
"We have not been given that instruction. The day was never declared a holiday; should there be a proposal for the day to be a holiday, normal procedure will be followed. But it is a day set aside to remember Munhumutapa Day," Minister Kazembe said.
He confirmed that businesses, schools, and other institutions are expected to operate as usual, with no interruptions to the working week.
Munhumutapa Day is commemorated to honour the legacy of the Munhumutapa Empire, a historic African kingdom that played a central role in the region's history.
