First Lady commends Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has praised the Ministry of Health and Child Care's ongoing measles-rubella vaccination programme, describing it as a vital step in protecting children’s health and strengthening national immunisation efforts.
The endorsement was shared by C.H. Mukungunugwa via a post on X (formerly Twitter), following the First Lady’s visit to Glen View 1 Polyclinic, where she observed children receiving the vaccine.
"First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, in her capacity as the Health and Child Care Ambassador, visited Glen View 1 Polyclinic where she witnessed children receiving the measles-rubella vaccine," Mukungunugwa posted.
He added that the First Lady commended the campaign, which targets children aged nine to 59 months, and emphasised its alignment with global health goals to eliminate measles through routine immunisation.
"Dr Mnangagwa also engaged with parents, encouraging responsible parenting as part of efforts to build a healthier and stronger nation," the post read.
She urged all parents and guardians to ensure their children are vaccinated, highlighting that immunisation not only prevents illness but also supports healthy child development.
