A vocal supporter of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, social media user C.H. Mukungunugwa, has dismissed war veteran Blessed Geza's calls for demonstrations as a series of "dismal failures", claiming the activist has lost public relevance.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mukungunugwa said Geza's past protest efforts failed to gain traction and predicted that his planned October 17 demonstration would flop.
"His last attempt was such a spectacular failure that it completely wiped out his relevance. No one believes in the hype anymore, and his planned demo on the 17th of October is just another date for another promised flop," Mukungunugwa posted.
He added that Geza's timing was ironic, as many of the people he hopes to mobilise will instead be attending the ZANU-PF People's Conference, where resolutions are expected to endorse Mnangagwa's term extension to 2030.
"The irony is profound — while Geza is calling for demonstrations, the very people he needs will be at the ZANU-PF conference, officially endorsing President ED Mnangagwa's term in office until 2030. He's not just failing; he's completely disconnected from reality."
The remarks come amid rising calls for a "one million march" against state capture and corruption, scheduled for October 17, with Geza among those pushing for mass mobilisation.
The online exchange reflects growing political tension as ZANU-PF prepares for its annual conference, while critics continue to challenge the party's governance record.
