Man burns mother's bedroom

PLUMTREE - A 29‑year‑old man from Plumtree is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting his mother, burning her bedroom hut, stealing her goat and threatening to kill a neighbour.
Lwazi Ncube appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody to 4 December.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that on 11 November, Ncube stole a goat belonging to his mother, Bawinile Nkomo. When confronted, he accused her of causing misfortune in his life, before assaulting her and setting her bedroom hut on fire.
Neighbour Mathe Kwibisa attempted to intervene but was allegedly threatened with death by the accused.
The matter continues.
