Highlanders have confirmed that head coach Pieter De Jongh will leave the club when his contract expires on December 31, 2025, ending his second stint with the Bulawayo giants.
The Dutch coach had recently expressed a desire to remain at Bosso beyond this season, but the club announced that the two parties agreed to part ways "after constructive discussions" and by mutual consent.
De Jongh returned to Highlanders mid-season following the dismissal of Kevin Kaindu, taking over a team grappling with instability and poor form. Despite the challenges, the club applauded him for his "professionalism, commitment, and positive contribution," noting that his leadership was instrumental in guiding the team through a turbulent campaign.
Bosso narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 11th on the log- just two points clear of the drop zone- after enduring one of their toughest seasons in years.
"Both parties part ways on good terms," Highlanders said in a statement, wishing De Jongh success in his future coaching endeavours. The club added that announcements regarding the technical team for the 2026 season will be made in due course.
Highlanders join a growing list of top-flight clubs reshuffling their technical benches ahead of the new season. Champions Scottland FC, Ngezi Platinum, CAPS United and FC Platinum are among the sides set to begin 2026 with new head coaches.
