Former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari is reportedly in discussions with Highlanders FC over the possibility of taking up the head coach position at the Bulawayo giants.

Sources close to both parties told NewsDay Sport that negotiations are underway, although no official agreement has been reached. Mwaruwari, popularly known as The Undertaker, had initially been expected to meet the club executive and players on Monday, but did not show up, fuelling further speculation regarding the ongoing talks.

The club is currently restructuring its technical team ahead of the new season, and Mwaruwari has emerged as a leading candidate for the top job.

Meanwhile, Highlanders players yesterday signed their off-season forms at the club offices before attending a briefing addressed by the executive and technical department, signalling the early stages of pre-season planning.

Highlanders are expected to make an official announcement once negotiations are finalised.
