Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been banned from the Pakistan Super League for two years after opting to join an Indian Premier League franchise despite agreeing to play in Pakistan's T20 competition.

The 29-year-old had been signed by Islamabad United after going unsold in both the PSL and Indian Premier League auctions. However, he later accepted an offer from Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman, who was released following instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The overlapping schedules of the IPL and PSL—now held almost simultaneously—made it impossible for Muzarabani to honour both commitments.

In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board said the player had breached contractual obligations.

"Despite a clear offer and an unequivocal acceptance of essential terms, the player chose to disregard these obligations in favour of a conflicting arrangement," the PCB said.

"The attempt to move away from such commitments without valid cause is a violation of contractual obligations and principles of good faith that govern global professional sports."

Muzarabani's ban follows a similar case involving South African bowler Corbin Bosch, who was suspended from the PSL for one year after turning down Peshawar Zalmi to join Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

The decision underscores growing tensions between global T20 leagues competing for top international talent, as scheduling clashes increasingly force players to choose between lucrative contracts.
