A 17-year-old Njube High School pupil stabbed five schoolmates following a fight over a bottle of juice.

The incident occurred last week on Friday afternoon.

The pupil, who is writing his Ordinary Level examinations, is said to have stabbed his schoolmates following an altercation.

"We tried to talk to him but he started insulting us. He then went on to stab my friends resulting in an argument which led to him stabbing me.

"He stabbed be on the head and my back and I was admitted to Mpilo Central Hospital where I received medication," Shepherd Takawira, one of the victims, told Chronicle.

He said he reported the incident at Njube Police Station.

The deputy head of Njube High School, Mr Calvin Dube, denied a stabbing incident took place at the school.

"Such an incident never happened, but I heard that pupils were fighting but it was not that serious," said Mr Dube.

Police spokesperson for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo said he had not received details of the incident.
