Magistrate defers mapositori trial

The 37 members of the Vapositori sect who are facing charges of public violence will now appear in court on Monday the 13th of October for continuation of trial after the magistrate deferred proceedings.

The 37 allegedly assaulted police officers, journalists and a delegation which had come to address them at their shrine on allegations of child abuse and forced early marriages.

Two witnesses have so far testified in this case and have positively identified seven out of the 37 suspects as their assailants.

All the 37 accused persons are denying the charges.
