Discord in Zanu PF government disgusting- MDC-T

THE MDC-T has castigated the Zanu PF for being confused in its policy implementation and in its running of the country after President Robert Mugabe and Finance Minister Patrick Chinamsa issued differing statements over the civil servants bonuses.
Chinamsa a week ago said the government will scrape civil servants bonuses for two years that is they will not get bonuses for 2015 and 2016. He said the government will review the policy in 2017. But president Robert Mugabe on April 18 during independence celebrations said Chinamsa did not consult him and his vice presidents over the issue and declared that the civil servants will get their bonuses.
MDC-T Organising Secretary Abednico Bhebhe the discord in Mugabe's government is quite revealing.
"On Monday, Finance Minister, Chinamasa said civil servants bonuses have been suspended until 2017 because government is broke," said Bhebhe.
"He was flanked by Information Minister, Jonathan Moyo and Mugabe's spokesperson, George Charamba."
Bhebhe said Mugabe on Saturday during the Independence Day celebrations however accused Chinamasa of acting unilaterally.
"He said he was not consulted and assured civil servants that they will get their 13th cheque," said Bhebhe.
"It's clear that either Mugabe was grandstanding and politicking, because of old age, or he had forgotten that they had discussed this issue. It is also quite clear that the centre is not holding, hence the conflicting statements." Bhebhe said whatever the case maybe, this is the kind of discord and lack of clarity on issues that has dragged Zimbabwe's economy to a pit, and left millions suffering.
"It is a well-known fact that the government still owes some civil servants, among them lecturers, their 2014 bonuses," he said.
"If Mugabe and his Finance Minister cannot be on the same page on simple issues such as paying civil servants, what more on matters relating to reviving the economy through attracting much needed FDI's."
Bhebhe said this is the kind of confusion that calls on Mugabe and his clueless government to step-aside.
"As it is, lack of a clear policy or clarity on indigenisation by Mugabe and his cronies is hampering the country's prospects of an economic turnaround as it remains an albatross in attracting FDI," he said.
"Policy certainty, clarity and consistency on issues affecting Zimbabweans and on key programmes such as indigenisation and economic direction is needed in bringing sanity and predictability, the two key factors for economic stability."
