Late wife haunts hubby

A family man is facing the wrath of his late wife after failing to honour her deathbed wish that he would only re-marry from her family after her death.
It was alleged that before Alec Chikwenjere's wife died in 2011, she made him promise her that after her death, if he so wished to re-marry, he had to marry either one of her younger sisters or nobody else but all this seemed to be falling on deaf ears since in 2014 Chikwenjere went on to marry a new wife who was not even related to his late wife, a move that did not go down well with his first in-laws.
All this was revealed by Ellen Sunguro (his late wife's elder sister) before Mutare Magistrate Mrs Yeukai Chigodora after he had dragged her to the civil courts accusing her of disturbing his peace by claiming that she had been having dreams and visions from her late sister that he was to divorce his new wife and marry one of her younger sisters if he desired any peace in his Chikanga house.
Sunguro told the court that her late sister incessantly came in her dreams telling her to go and give Chikwenjere a word of warning on his new marriage.
"Chikwenjere knows it that my late sister wanted him to marry one of our younger sisters, the one that looked after his children when she died.
"Ever since he married his new wife, my late sister is now visiting our family members in our dreams asking us to remind Chikwenjere to honour his promise to her," she said.
Sunguro also admitted that her late sister had caused Chikwenjere's new wife's miscarriage in December 2014, claiming that her sister had told her in her sleep.
"She will not live peacefully in that house that my sister built with her husband, the only option is for her to move out and leave Chikwenjere marry my sister since he is already our in-law.
"My sister told me in my dreams that she had caused the miscarriage and I told the pair but they would not listen.
"If this new wife is to continue staying with him, mishap after mishap will continue happening in the house," she informed the court.
Chikwenjere however, told the court that indeed he had made
the promise to his wife just before her death but her parents had later refused to let him marry the younger sister claiming that she was too young for him.
"They wouldn't let me marry their daughter even after I had promised my late wife to do so, that is the reason why I married someone else.
"Ndaroora patsva Sunguro akabheja kuti achamiramira kusvika mufi andimukira ( After I remarried, Sunguro vowed that she was going to act accordingly till my late wife's spirit came back to haunt me) and now it has happened, she claims that she is having these wild visions," he prayed for the order.
A protection order was granted to Alec Chikwenjere against Ellen Sunguro, who was ordered to keep peace with her brother-in-law but was not barred from visiting him since her late sister's children are in the custody of their father, Chikwenjere.
