A political commentator Zexie Mashonga has warned the ruling Zanu PF members that the sanctions imposed on them were because they beat up and killed the white community during the farm invasions in Zimbabwe.
"Of Sanctions...find a way of busting them like what Ian Smith and his government did back then," he said.
"At the same time engage those that imposed them to see why they imposed them and how to remove them, because as far as I know, their argument is...
"You beat and kill their sons and daughters. You took farms violently, you loot their property in the name of indigenisation, you beat and kill your own opposition supporters and you expect the west and America to fold their hands and work with you irregardless, as if everything is normal."
He said their foreign policies doesn't allow that.
"Do to the Chinese what you did to the whites and let us see if you can get along with China. You clearly said keep your countries and you keep yours, they kept theirs you are crying saying sanctions," he said.
"They are not sanctions, they just refused to work with the terrorist operating in the cover of a ruling party. Engage the west and America and see where you differed and that is what a government with love of its country would do."
He said the reality of the matter is Zimbabwe need the west as much as it need the east.
"Rather than making noise over sanctions while in Germany cars, how are you accessing these cars? Mugabe's jet is a Boeing, how is the government accessing spare parts for one plane," he said.
"Zanu PF hardliners and other blinkered and the indoctrinated might argue that Smith was helped by South Africa Apatheid government and some western friends to bust the sanctions."
He said the same situation is prevailing now, Zimbabwe have got SA black lead government which is doing normal business with Zimbabwe.
"We do have China, the second largest economy in the world working with us with no strings attached . So that argument alone is useless to me. All our minerals, agricultural products, human labour etc we are exporting," he said.
"Therefore my question to you ( those who say sanctions sanctions) is why do we cry with the imposition of targeted restrictions and travel bans while we have the largest economy ( China ), and largest Africa economy ( SA) and others like Russia and India to trade with."
He asked if it therefore mean the government is lying to the people when they say "we don't need the west", whereas in actual fact we need them more than we need China and other mentioned above ..?"
